Poha is an Indian Breakfast or Brunch recipe , which is made of  flattened rice. Poha is  known as Aval, Avalakki, Chiura, flattened rice, beaten rice in different languages.

It is tasty, healthy, nutritious, easy and super quick to prepare. There are many versions for this but varies a little here and there in ingredients and taste. Lets have a quick look at it.

How do you make it?

Wash poha 2-3 times, drain it in a sieve and keep it aside.
Heat a tsp of oil in a deep pan.Add mustard seeds to it. When they crackle, add chana dal, urad dal, red chillies and curry leaves.
Fry for a few seconds and add onions to it.
Fry them till they become soft.
Add tomatoes, turmeric powder and red chilly powder. Give it a stir.
Add a little water and allow them to cook for a few minutes in a low flame.
When the water is fully absorbed, add poha and mix well. Sprinkle the required amount of salt and add garam masala powder.
Keep stirring till the ingredients are mixed well.
Add lemon juice and coriander leaves.
Stir well and dish out to a serving bowl.
